Interactive Surface Creation


Planes perpendicular to an axis-PX, PY, PZ: The plane is positioned at the mouse location.
Planes parallel to an axis-PXY, PXZ, PYZ: The plane always passes through the position of the first click. Subsequent mouse motion rotates the plane about that point.
Sphere at the origin-SO: The sphere passes through the cursor position.
Sphere on an axis-SX, SY, SZ: The first click determines the sphere origin subject to the axis constraint. The sphere passes through the cursor position.
General Sphere-S: The first click determines the origin. The cut depth sets the origin in the direction perpendicular to the cut. The sphere passes through the cursor position.
Cylinder centered on an axis-CX, CY, CZ: The cylinder passes through the cursor location.
Cylinder parallel to an axis-C/X, C/Y, C/Z: The first click determines the origin of the cylinder. The cylinder passes through the cursor location.
Cone Sheets: Single or double sheet cones are created depending on the check state of the Single Sheet Cones in the Cones submenu. For single sheet cones, which sheet is created depends on the cursor location with respect to the origin.
Cone centered on an axis-KX, KY, KZ: The first click determines the origin. The cone passes through the cursor position.
Cone parallel to an axis-K/X, K/Y, K/Z: The first click determines the origin. The cut depth sets the origin in the direction perpendicular to the cut. The cone passes through the cursor position.
Ellipsoids-EO, EX, EY, EZ, E: The first click determines the origin as for the analogous sphere type. The cursor position lies at the corner of a rectangular box enclosing the elliptical cross section in the cut. When the mouse moves with the control key held down, the cross sect ion in the cut is constrained to be circular, in which case the ellipse passes through the cursor location.
Elliptical Cylinder-ECX, ECY, ECZ, EC/X, EC/Y, EC/Z: The first click determines the origin as for the analogous cylinder type. The elliptical cross section in the cut is drawn in the same manner as for an ellipsoid, including the constraint to a circular cross section when the control key is held down.
Torus-TX, TY, TZ: The first click sets the origin. The cut depth sets the component of the origin in the direction perpendicular to the cut. The outer radius passes through the cursor position. The ratio of the minor radius to the major radius is the same as the ratio in the last torus that was created; it can be adjust by resizing.
