Line Drawing Options Dialog

Options and parameters that affect line drawing plots can be modified on the Line Drawing Dialog.

Trace
When Trace is checked, for line-drawing plots (DRAW and RDRAW), the path between the point to be plotted and the viewpoint is checked for obscuring opaque zones. If the point would be hidden, it is not plotted. Thus hidden lines are removed.

By default, the mode is not in effect (Trace unchecked).

Scan
When Scan is checked, surface intersections are shown in Line Drawings (DRAW and RDRAW). With Scan unchecked, intersections are neither calculated nor drawn. Scan is enabled (checked) by default.

Lock
When Lock is checked, changes to geometry and viewing parameters are prohibited, resulting faster display of line drawings (DRAW and RDRAW). This mode is useful when the same geometry is re-displayed, such as when viewing particle tracks. By default, the mode is not in effect (Lock unchecked).

Auto
When Auto is checked, a change to the geometry model, View Point, or Spatial Window automatically causes a line drawing, proceeded by a screen clear, to be made. Actions resulting in a new image include defining a new body, changing an existing body description, and changing a zone description. By default, the mode is not in effect (Auto unchecked).

Line Resolution
In Line Drawing, lines representing body boundaries or intersections are broken up into a number of segments before the segments are tested for visibility.

The number of segments may be set for Lines, Curves, or Both at once. For each choice, a value can be selected from the drop down list or typed directly into the edit field to the left when the Other dropdown list choice is selected.

Line Width
A fraction of the Sub Window size is used as a margin for line drawings at each edge of the Sub Window. The default is no margin (0). A small but noticeable margin results with a margin of about 0.03. A value can be selected from the drop down list or typed directly into the edit field to the left when the Other dropdown list choice is selected.

Graphics Margin
The line width (in pixels) for line drawing. The default value of 0 results in a line 1 pixel wide. A value can be selected from the drop down list or typed directly into the edit field to the left when the Other dropdown list choice is selected.
