Partitions are used to select a range of pixel intensities that will be assigned to a material for use in MCNP. A material can be assigned to each partition and to the ranges above and below the image window. The partition boundaries are defined in terms of the color mapping indices-they do not follow the pixel intensity values if the contrast is changed. They are mapped to pixel values when the partitions are used, such as when writing an MCNP input file.
The partitions are saved in the system registry and restored when the program restarts. They can also be saved to and read from a file. The Reset Boundaries item in the partition context menu replaces the current partitions with a set of evenly spaced partitions; the number of new partitions is set on the Options dialog.
