Interactive Pixel Range

Boundaries can be set from the extremes of the index values of pixels in a rectangular region. After selecting Get Pixel Range in the Image menu, a context menu, or toolbar , a rectangular region is drawn using the left mouse button. The right pane of the status bar reads "Select Pixel Range" when the operation is possible. As the rectangle is being drawn, the left pane shows the minimum and maximum pixel intensities and color indices. When the button is released, the minimum and maximum indices are shown as red lines in the partition window. When the red lines are present and the partition context menu is invoked with the cursor over a partition boundary, the Replace with Range Min and Replace with Range Max items are active. When selected, the current boundary is moved to the chosen extreme if the move is permitted. The move is prohibited if it would cause the boundary to cross another boundary.
